Our History
Caldercote Ltd was founded by Sidney Taylor in 1983 and has been providing extreme metal protection coating solutions to the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Nuclear industries ever since. He built a reputation based on upon rigorous quality and safety standards which combined with our experience gained in providing metal protective coatings for the harshest of environments has positioned Caldercote as one of the leaders in our industry.
Sidney passed away on the 25th August 2018 – aged 96yrs 282 days. He continued to work at Caldercote until September 2017.
November 16th 2021 would have been his 100th birthday – still loved and respected by all who worked for / with him.
Our broad knowledge base, extensive technical expertise and unique practical experience combine to provide cutting edge solutions to preparing metals for all environments from subsea to the desert.
In 2008 Caldercote were invited to advise and recommend protective solutions for the Wimbledon roof having been previously involved in providing corrosion solutions for the new Wembley stadium
We work to the highest possible standards including NORSOK and NACE Level 3
Our Clientele
We take great pride in the customer base that we have built up over the years of trading. These include numerous companies and agencies working within the following sectors: Valve/Actuator, Hydraulic Cylinder and Power and Transmission manufacturers
Project work has been completed for the following companies amongst others Aramco, Britoil, B.P., British Gas, British Nuclear Fuels, British Water Authorities Conoco, I.C.I., Kvaerner Eng. A.S., M.O.D., Mobil, Shell, Stat Oil, Total Fina Elf, Agip
Operating Method
We work to strict specifications. Documentation is received and extensively reviewed, in many cases the client relies on us to ensure that all the components, procedures and testing methodology have been correctly specified for the project in hand.
Steve Newson our Head of Quality Control is NACE Level 3 accredited and ensures that testing is rigorously performed and executed according to the project specification
In accordance with NACE Level 3 guidelines the work is inspected, approved and certified
